Students vote in Scottish Independence Referendum

A total of 97% of eligible voters registered to take part in deciding on Scotland’s future. Getting the referendum franchise extended to 16 and 17 year olds was a momentous victory for the young people in Scotland, after NUS Scotland and a coalition of young people’s organisations campaigned for votes at 16 for a number for years in the lead up to the referendum.
